Winter's Arrival

This is called Staghorn Sumac (or just Sumac) but not to be confused with poison sumac. The red seed pods stay on the branches all winter long. The first nations tribes like the Algonquins used to eat the seed pods to stave off scurvy in Winter because they're rich in vitamin C. If you pick the fuzzy seeds and suck on them it tastes like candy sours.
